Court Lighting & Heating
Automated lighting and heating
Lights and heating follow the booking sheet, so courts are lit and warm when play starts and switched off when it ends.
- 1
Booking confirmed
A booking with lights is synced to that court the moment it's confirmed. Cancel early and the court's schedule updates too.
- 2
Court activated
Players confirm they've arrived by tapping their RFID fob or entering their PIN at the clubhouse kiosk. Clubs can require this, so lights never come on for a no show.
- 3
Relay switched
Commercial DIN rail relays switch the lights over SNMP, with a warm up time set per court so lights and heating are ready when play starts. Floodlights don't run on fixed timers: ManageMyMatch works out sunset for your club's location, and only lights a booked court within 45 minutes of sunset or after dark.
- 4
Countdown and cutoff
The courtside display counts down the session and warns players before the lights cycle off. A short grace period lets the last rally finish before the relay switches off.
- 5
Manual override
Officials can switch any court's lights on, off or back to automatic from the admin screen for maintenance, coaching or events.
- 6
Charged by the minute
Light fees are charged only for the minutes the lights were actually on, straight to the players' club accounts.
Worked example
Court 3, one evening session
- 17:56Arrival confirmed at the kiosk. Lights and heating switch on to warm up.
- 18:00Session starts. The court display begins its countdown.
- 18:42Final minutes. The display warns players before cutoff.
- 18:45Session ends. A short grace period lets the rally finish.
- 18:48Grace period over. Relays switch the lights and heating off.
Divisible Sports Halls
Divisible sports halls & dynamic space reassignment
Multisport clubs, sports centres and gyms run large divisible halls for badminton, pickleball, basketball and five a side football. Rigid booking systems can't cope when four badminton courts occupy the same floor as one basketball court. ManageMyMatch's smart space allocation can.
- Overlaid space schedules
- Run schedules for each sub space, such as Badminton Courts 1 to 4, alongside the parent space they share, such as the full hall for basketball. A booking on one blocks the floor space it uses on the others.
- Dynamic booking reassignment
- When someone books a sport that needs more of the floor, such as basketball across Spaces 1 and 2, ManageMyMatch doesn't simply refuse because Space 1 has a badminton booking. If Space 3 or 4 is free at that time, the badminton booking moves there and the basketball booking goes through.
- Zero manual admin
- Hall utilisation and rental income go up without a volunteer hall manager juggling court sheets by hand.
- Gyms and fitness
- Run gym memberships and fitness classes with capacity limits and reserve lists, with fob door entry, alongside racket and hall sports.
Worked example
Saturday 10:00, the main hall
| Space | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Space 1 | Badminton, A. Patel | Basketball |
| Space 2 | Free | Basketball |
| Space 3 | Free | Badminton, A. Patel |
| Space 4 | Free | Free |
A basketball booking for Spaces 1 and 2 arrives. The badminton booking moves to Space 3 automatically, and both games go ahead.
Courtside Displays & Door Access
Hardware that works at the court
- Smart court clocks
- A 10 inch clock at each court counts down the session and shows the match name and live score.
- Courtside door displays
- A display at each court door shows whether the court is in use and how long is left, with light and heating overrides for the session.
- Door access
- DoorFlow controllers let members in with their RFID fob, and access follows membership status automatically. Visiting players with a fob get access for a window around their booking. Phone entry is coming soon.
- On site in the app
- When a player is physically at the club, the app unlocks extra options: confirming they're on court, buying extra light time and marking a match.
- Fail safe offline access
- Door controllers keep a copy of the access list locally, with battery backup, so members still get in during an internet dropout or a power cut. You're alerted if a relay goes offline.
Worked example
What the court display shows
- Countdown
- Minutes, then seconds, left in the session.
- On court
- Who the court is booked for, or the match being played.
- Live score
- Games and points when the match is scored live.
- Between sessions
- The current time.
